About Event

The Esri Eastern Africa Education GIS Conference is a 2-day conference that brings together an array of GIS Users in the Education industry from across the Eastern Africa region. The conference brings together youthful minds in the GIS industry in the region to make presentations, attend workshops and network. The purpose of the sessions is to help prepare the next generation workforce with GIS skills for better decision-making across a broad spectrum of disciplines and professions.

Call for Presentations

The 2-day conference comprises of plenary sessions featuring keynote speakers, paper presentation and technical workshops on the latest use of the Esri ArcGIS Platform. Featuring for the entire duration of the conference will be a maps and posters gallery, partner exhibition and an Apps showcase where developers will showcase web and mobile apps build using Esri Developer GIS. You are invited to participate as a presenter of a paper, student success story or poster, give a lightening talk or showcase your mobile or web application.



Paper Abstract Guideline

  1. Format and layout of abstract should be as shown above.
  2. Only one abstract may be submitted per primary author.
  3. Abstracts and Presentations must be in English.
  4. Title must not exceed 12 words.
  5. Abstract should not exceed 200 words.
  6. The Abstract should answer the following questions:
    • What challenge you are addressing
    • What was the methodology used?
    • What are the results and impact?
  7. Abstract must maximize on the application of GIS.
  8. The presenter’s biography should not exceed 25 words.
  9. Full paper guidelines will be sent to presenters whose abstracts have been accepted.
  10. Submit complete abstracts to educ@esriea.com
